The Trip

The Trip to Wat Luang Phor Sodh Dhammakayaram Temple

I left Regina at on November 30, 2011 at 9:40,  I have about a 4 hour layover (was a bit late leaving) in Vancouver and then was off to Tokyo.  The ride was excellent as we seemed to follow the sun all the way and had a really smooth ride.  When we arrived at Tokyo, the plane for Bangkok had left without about 20 of us, so we had to go through customs, take a 2 hour bus ride to Haneda Airport to catch a different plane.    I got to Bangkok at about 5:00am in the morning on December 2, headed to my hotel for a few hours and then got in a taxi and arrived at the Wat at about 12:30pm.  My taxi driver was Mr. Boon, who was very friendly.  His taxi was playing karaoke songs (in English) on a in dash DVD player all the way the Wat.  On the way to the Wat, I took him out for McDonalds as it was going to be after 12pm when I got to the Wat and they don't serve any solid food after noon (I'll post the rules later).  The traffic in Thailand is crazy!!!  Motorcycles basically go where ever they want, people drive between lanes, and everyone honking at motorcycles/vehicles so that they know their passing.  But thankfully he got me here safely.
